The newest republic

Nepal recently declared itself a republic, as the BBC reports. I’ll be traveling back there this summer to do some writing. I’m really excited to be going back to a place that I love– a country that has experienced a great deal of change in the past decade. Below are some pictures I took there more than eight years ago, and recently scanned in from 35 mill slide film.

Laundry on a rooftop in Kathmandu.

Rickshaw drivers in Thamel, Kathmandu.

Rhododendrons and clouds in eastern Nepal.
